FAQ’s

How long is a session and how often?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients have weekly sessions, and these take place at the same time each week as that time is reserved for you.
How many sessions do I need?
I provide short-term counselling (for most clients this is 6-8 sessions) and long-term counselling. The number of sessions a person requires varies greatly and this is something we will discuss at regular intervals through the course of our work together.
How much are sessions and how do I pay?

Sessions are £60 each and payment is made before the start of each session via bank transfer or cash (if in-person). More information regarding this is covered in the counselling contract which will be sent to you if you decide to work with me, and we will go over it together.

How does online counselling work?
Online counselling with me is provided via video call using either Google Meet or Zoom. I do not provide telephone counselling. I send clients the link to the online meeting space 24 hours before their session.
Is online counselling private?
When I meet clients for a session I am in a private space and wear a headset. I also request clients ensure they are in a private space for their session.
What happens to my personal information?

I have a detailed privacy policy which you can read here: Privacy Policy

Are sessions confidential?
Yes, everything we discuss stays between yourself and me. A couple of exceptions apply due to legal and ethical obligations. These are clearly outlined in our counselling contract, which I will email to you before we begin working together. You may also discuss this during our initial call.
What if I need to cancel?
My cancellation policy is 48 hours’ notice. Please let me know as soon as you can if you are unable to attend and we can reschedule your appointment. Cancellation under 48 hours will incur the full session fee.
What if I, or you, go on holiday?
Please give me as much notice as possible regarding holidays and we can schedule an appointment for your return. I aim to give clients at least 4 weeks’ notice of planned holidays.
