Stress and Burnout Counselling

Do you feel constantly overstretched, on edge, or caught between exhaustion and restlessness? Do you long for a good nights sleep from which you wake feeling rested and ready for the day ahead? I’m Belinda, and I help sensitive women find balance, rebuild energy, and create space for calm through stress and burnout counselling and guided journaling, UK wide.

Understanding Stress and Burnout

Stress is a normal response to challenges, but when it becomes prolonged, it can develop into burnout, where you enter a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion.

Signs of burnout can include:

  • Feeling drained even after rest
  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
  • Heightened irritability or sensitivity
  • Detachment from work, family, or daily life
  • Physical symptoms such as headaches, tension, or disrupted sleep
  • Losing interest in things that you used to enjoy

Burnout often builds gradually, making it hard to notice until it significantly impacts your wellbeing.

Recovering from burnout begins with gently recognising where you are at. From there, tuning into what you truly need, and moving forward one step at a time. Counselling offers a compassionate space to begin your journey towards healing.

What to Expect in Sessions

Whilst there are common factors in burnout and stress, essentially, your experience is unique and so too is your path to recovery. In our time together we will explore what you need and how you can give that to yourself in sustainable ways. Some aspects we may include in sessions are:

Gently exploring thought and behaviour patterns:
Together, we’ll look at thoughts, beliefs, or habits which may be contributing to stress. The focus is on understanding these and exploring whether it would be helpful to you to change them or let them go.

Exploring your relationship with boundaries:
As many of my clients discover, stress and burnout can often be contributed to by poor boundaries. The thing with boundaries is that they are often deeply related to early childhood experiences. Here, we are talking self-esteem, how boundaries showed up in your early relationships, and the patterns and beliefs you built around that. In sessions, we explore this gently and without judgement. We consider what needs to change and how you can make those changes in ways that feel do-able for you.

Living in alignment with your values:
When we’re not living in alignment with our core values, life can feel like a constant uphill struggle. You might find yourself saying yes when you really want to say no, or spending energy on things that don’t feel meaningful. Over time, this inner conflict creates tension, drains your energy, and leaves you feeling disconnected. In sessions we may spend time exploring this, and helping you find ways to reconnect with your values and how you can live in alignment with them.

Understanding and supporting sensitivity:
Today’s world can feel overwhelming for sensitive souls. The constant noise, demands, and flow of information often feels like too much. In our sessions, we gently explore your sensitivity and what you uniquely need, because no two people experience it in the same way. This work is always grounded and practical, helping you find steady ways to care for yourself and thrive.
